Austrian Rococo silver gilt and Viennese enamel tray, ca 1880. Oval enamel well depicting village green peopled with harp-strumming, minueting, love-making gentle folk. A flower wreath is suspended above a man and woman seated at a table with a scribe, quill in hand chronicling the gallantry. A charming ode to the 18th-century fete champetre. Silver-gilt filigree gallery with flower heads and scrolls. Enameled twisted-rod end handles in scrolled mounts. Four gadrooned supports.

Handle tapering with dense flower heads as well as patera, beading, and volute scrolls in low relief. A desirable early piece in the Antoine Heller pattern that was first produced in the 1880s.
