Japonesque mixed metal tea caddy. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1880. Ginger-jar form with curved and tapering sides, and short inset neck with cover. Grape bunch, stem flower rooted in granulated soil, leaf and nuts, and butterflies applied to copper ground. A wonderful period piece ready to be filled with your favorite blend. Wonderful Russian 875 silver and niello tea caddy, 1877. Four straight sides with gently raised top, short neck, and threaded cover. Engraved ornament. Sides have interlaced Moresque frames inset with bouquets on two sides. On third side in Cyrillic letters is the phrase “Chinese Tea”. Edwardian sterling silver tea caddy. Made by George Fox in London in 1909. Shaped and rectilinear with corner scrolled bracket feet and hinged cover with finial. Chased and repousse ornament. On front and back, a bosomy lady is shaded by a parasol amidst luxuriant fronds. More fronds and asymmetrical cartouches (vacant) on sides. Chinese export silver tea caddy, ca 1900. Baluster with drum-form neck and cover. Chased and repousse bamboo and blossoming prunus branches on stippled ground. Plain band at shoulder. Also plain are foot rim, neck, and cover sides. Cover top has circular frame (vacant). Fully marked with Chinese characters and letters HC for Hung Chong, who was active in Canton and Shanghai. Very good condition.

German Rococo 800 silver tea caddy, ca. 1900. Pleasing bombe form with snug-fitting bun cover. Low-relief scene on front and back of musician serenading a courting couple. On sides a fox looks up at a perched bird (possibly inspired by Aesop's Fox and Crow). On cover a seated falconer. Spread foot with scrolls and flowers. Hallmarked.
