Art Nouveau glass decanter with silver overlay. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1890. Flattish round bowl with cylindrical neck and hinged and cork-lined cover. Glass is blue-tinged sea green (or teal) with dense overlay in form of leafy scrolls and flowers. Two strapwork cartouches of which one engraved with script monogram. A really nice special-occasion piece with easy-grip handle for furtive straight-from-the-bottle slugs. Fully marked and numbered D475. Very good condition.
