Edwardian sterling silver baby bowl on plate. Made by Kerr in Newark. Bowl has gently upward tapering sides and plain flat rim. Plate has deep plain well. Acid-etched menagerie with lions and tigers and bears as well as domestic critters like cats and dogs. Bowl has circular frame (vacant) for engraving the initials of the sweetest beast of all. Fully marked and numbered 1684. Excellent condition with strong definition.

Sterling silver neck collar with imbricated leaf borders. Hinged bun cover same; top has chased garland, ribbon, crisscrossing horns of plenty, and laurel wreath surmounted by crown engraved with interlaced script monogram. Marked “Sterling” and Shreve, Crump & Low stamp. Very good condition.

Open scrollwork side handles inset with cast medallion heads. One is a mustachioed man in plumed hat; the other a lady with noble visage. An unusual example of this popular and varied pattern.
