Overlay in form of blossoming rose branches in oval frames, and whiplash scrolls inset with trefoils. Strapwork cartouche engraved with interlaced script monogram. Glass is red. Worn marks. English Victorian sterling silver ladle, 1997. Round bowl mounted to cast King-shaped handle with shell terminal. The hounds run single file up the handle to the boar that is trapped by more hounds and a huntsman coming from the opposite direction. Handle verso has hunting trophy and bowl verso has Elizabethan lady in neck ruff. Old fashioned style and quality with nice heft. Fully marked including unidentified maker’s stamp. Fine condition and detail.
