Acid-etched frieze depicting child gardeners lugging water cans and pushing wheelbarrows. Front vacant for engraving the name of a precious seedling. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 20941B (first produced in 1927), and director’s letter m. Very good condition.

On exterior are applied vegetation rooted in granulated soil, a stray dragonfly, and solitary fisherman who has hooked a fish. Overlay in form of loose, meandering, and whiplash tendrils with elongated flower heads. Iridescent glass in Medici pattern with irregular and pebbly vertical ornament in white on yellow ground. Silver ball stopper with figural finial in form of water carrier; clear glass plug. Marks possibly for Wolf & Knell in Hanau. Good condition with deep patina. Plug sanded down on one side.
