Rare Japanese sterling silver bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Oval well and turned-down rim. At ends are bird figures and handles comprising reed-wrapped loops with split mounts terminating in squiggly tendrils interspersed with applied flower heads on butler-finished ground. Short oval foot. Deep and rich gilding.
