Aventurine is associated with good luck. United States, 1920s. Fully marked. In velvet-bound and lined case with retailer’s stamp. Excellent condition with nice patina.

Ovoid bowl has leafy-ring end handles with graduated beading fix-mounted to cast ram’s heads. Cover stepped and domed with same. Egg-and-dart knop on stepped foot. Beading and Greek key. Beautiful midcentury Classicism.

Early mark (1854-70) includes maker’s and retailer’s stamps, and pre-1860 pattern no. 472. Fine condition.
