Pair of German Biedermeier Classical silver candlesticks, ca 1820. Each: Upward tapering shaft on columnar base on raised foot. Classical ornamental borders with gadrooning, leaf-and-dart, and leaf. On base is applied frieze depicting golden youth engaged in symbolic act with horn of plenty and large krater. Marked “13” (that is 13/16 loths or 812 silver). Very good condition.

Turn-of-the-century American Art Nouveau glass vase with engraved silver overlay. Ovoid body with flared and ruffled rim and round flat foot. Overlay in form of daisies with entwined stems and leaves, and missing petals evocative of the age-old “loves me, loves me not”. Narrow asymmetrical cartouche (vacant). Glass is green. Worn marks. Fine condition with deep patina.

Rare Hindostanee sterling silver ice tongs. Made by Gorham in Providence. U-form with gilt jaws, of which one claw-form and the other flower head.
