Imperial Chrysanthemum sterling silver nut cracker. Made by Gorham in Providence. Dense sprawling flower heads mixed in with scrolls and leaves. A great piece in a Japonesque pattern first produced in 1894. Fully marked including late 19th-century maker’s stamp. Hardware stamped “Germany”. Very good condition.

Turn-of-the-century sterling silver portable inkwell. Drum-form with hinged and cork-lined cover. Repousse scrolls, leaves, and flowers on sides and cover top. A nice piece with strong regional associations. Fully marked with maker’s stamp for William Wilson & Son, who was active in Philadelphia from ca 1883 to 1909, and retailer’s stamp for Bailey, Banks & Biddle, also in Philadelphia. Very good condition.
