Portuguese Neoclassical silver toothpick holder. A cast figure of trident-wielding Neptune stands in front of gilt scallop shell; both mounted to faceted pedestal with stepped base, which is pierced for inserting toothpicks. Foot has tooled flowers and scrolls. Marked (1836-43). Very good condition with deep period patina.
