Leaf-capped scroll handle with bead-and-real applied to exterior and gadrooning applied to interior. Bowl interior has pierced and curved partition for holding brush. Gently curved bowl and inset undulating rim with wide lip spout and integral scroll handle with tendril mounts that wraparound mouth rim. Handle has lily pad “cap” with crouching figure of frog. Portuguese (1938-84) marks including 916 standard stamp, and Lisbon assay stamp and retailer’s stamp “Mergulhão” for Carlos Alberto Joalheiro, who was active beginning in 1960s. Very good condition.
