Ovalish well, curved sides with lobing and applied leaf border, and scalloped rim with the famous chrysanthemum flower heads alternating with leaves. A profusion of blossoms bunched at ends and wrapped around bracket handles. Reeded oval foot ring with chased leaves.

A very nice piece in the celebrated pattern, a New World interpretation of a Japanese motif, that was first produced in 1880.

French 950 silver cigarette case, ca 1910. Rectangular and hinged with double-sided chased and applied decoration with bicyclists peddling single-file uphill. At top stalactite-style ornament. At bottom flowering c-scroll. Ground stippled. Interior gilt. Maker’s stamp for Louis Baudet, who was active in Paris until the 1930s. Excellent condition with crisp definition.
