English Victorian sterling silver card case, ca 1880. Rectangular with hinged cover and scrolled sides. On front is the Albert Memorial with cityscape in background. On back are leafing scrolls and flowers, and central heraldic cartouche (vacant).

The Albert Memorial was designed by George Gilbert Scott in memory of Queen Victoria’s husband Prince Albert, who died in 1861. The Gothic structure was opened in 1872. The statue of the defunct was added in 1876.
