George III sterling silver tankard. Made by Peter & William Bateman in London in 1806. Cylindrical and girdled with spread bottom. Hinged and double-domed cover with open scrollwork thumb rest mounted to s-scroll handle. Pendant frame inset with monogram and second monogram at bottom; period engraving very likely for the original owner. In full working order—ready for a couple more centuries of companionable toping. Fully marked. Very good condition with nice patina.

Sweet silver box with squirrel finial. Drum-form with soft and shimmering hand hammering. Compatible domed cover with cast nut-nibbler hunched over his find, which he grips with tensile forepaws.
