Victorian Rococo sterling silver dessert set. Made by Martin, Hall & Co., Ltd in Sheffield in 1859. This set comprises 18 knives and 18 forks. Textural handle with strapwork cartouche; terminal scrolled with engraved armorial in cabled oval. Blades and shanks have double-sided engraved leafy scrolls, fruits, and flowers. In stained-wood case with fitted velvet lining; case cover has brass plaque engraved with same armorial.

French 950 silver tastevin, ca 1920. Curved bowl with tooled grape bunches alternating with scalloped lobes. Raised center inset with 5 frank coin dated 1832, which was issued during the reign of Louis-Philippe (1830-48). Shaped handle mounted to ring and engraved with grape bunch and motto “Le bon vin rejouit le cœur” Marked with Minerva head and maker’s stamp for Marc Parrod, who was active in Dijon from ca 1903-1944. Very good condition.
