Double-sided beautiful including the elegant handle mounts on back. Fully marked including pattern no. 17144 (first produced in 1908) and director’s letter m. Very good condition.

Cover top has central and chamfered rectangular frame (vacant); cover top frame has engraved wave pattern on lined ground. Box interior cedar lined. Cover interior gilt washed. Olympian sterling silver berry spoon. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1910. Shaped terminal and handle with dense leaf ornament and Classical scene with lolling maids and supplicating admirer. The motif is Paris, the Son of Priam. Gilt-washed oval bowl.

A beautiful piece in the Beaux-Arts pattern designed by F. Antoine Heller and exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878. Olympian was in production until 1942. Production resumed in 1950s.
