George III sterling silver snuffbox. Made in London in 1822. Rectangular with curved corners and flat and hinged cover. Allover engine turning. On cover are two chased rectangular floral bands and central oval frame with presentation: To the officers of the / 65th / from Lt Colonel Warren. Cover has applied and scrolled tab. Box sides have two wrap-around chased floral bands. Box and cover interior lightly gilt and partitioned. A fine piece of 18th-century militaria.

Very nicely worked sugar box made in Europe in the late 19th century. The whole body with alternating fluted panels, plain and then decorated with roses. Figural rose finial. Cover on a hinge. Set on 4 figural rose feet. Very heavy at 19 troy ounces. 6 ½ inches by 4 ½ inches by 6 inches high. Full marked on bottom and inside edge of the cover. Excellent condition.
