Victorian sterling silver sugar shaker. Made by Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor in London in 1889. Baluster body and cover have lush and tactile floral repousse on stippled ground. Cover has ornamental piercing and plain scalloped top. Short neck and spread foot also plain. Hallmark includes retailer’s name Sorley, Silversmiths, Glasgow. Beautiful form and deep patina.

Sides encircled with vertical rectilinear frames with ogee arches at top and bottom and studded borders on stippled ground. Ground ornamented with quatrefoil flowers. Gilt interior.
