Midcentury Modern sterling silver box. Retailed by Shreve, Crump & Low in Boston. Rectangular with straight sides and sharp corners. Cover hinged and gently curved, and applied with three gilt torches. Box and cover interior cedar lined. Fully marked including maker’s (S&S) and retailer’s stamps and no. 1. Maker’s stamp unidentified – possibly Smith & Smith, which became a division of Wallace in 1958. Very good condition.
