Sides have fluid and symmetrical scrolls and foliage. Notched and cabled rim with scrolled bracket handles. Four paw supports with scallop shell mounts. Hallmarked. Very good condition.

Edwardian sterling silver and enamel inkwell. Made by Grinsell & Sons in London in 1906. Dome base with reeded foot and rim and hinged cover. On cover top is inset enamel plaque: a cat sits on its haunches, front legs stiffened, ears erect, and gaze intense. Wonderful details include the shaded striping and fluffy chest fur.
