George III sterling silver salver. Made by Thomas Daniel in London in 1791. Oval with reeded rim. Large armorial engraved in center. Ornamental border with paterae inset in rinceaux. A beautiful piece with fine period engraving – that is, the crest belongs to the first owner. Rests on 4 tapering supports terminating in volute scrolls. Hallmarked. Excellent condition.

Pair of Modern sterling silver candlesticks. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1925. Each: Unusual attenuated form with knopped double baluster shaft on domed foot. Oval socket with detachable bobeche. Leaves and bands of stylized flowers alternating with circles or ovals. On underside is engraved date “December 11, 1910-1935”. Corner supports and finial in form of cast dolphin figures. A restrained design enlivened with a traditional Renaissance motif. A fine early piece by this historic maker. Finest quality sterling silver bowl. Made by Baltimore Sterling Silver Co. (later Stieff), ca 1895. Bowl has curved sides, short stem, and raised foot. Lovely floral repousse with scattered blossoms on stippled ground. Bowl and foot rims have applied leaves and scrolls. Well has contrasting plain 7-point star that is visible also on bowl underside. Stem also plain. Hallmarked. Very good condition.

You won’t find a more wonderful pair of Art Nouveau trays. These were made by Tiffany & Co. in New York at the turn of the century. Each: a peacock’s tail embellished with flower heads and tendrils. On cover are two chased rectangular floral bands and central oval frame with presentation: To the officers of the / 65th / from Lt Colonel Warren. Cover has applied and scrolled tab. Box sides have two wrap-around chased floral bands. Box and cover interior lightly gilt and partitioned. A fine piece of 18th-century militaria.
