Beautiful sterling silver grape compote. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. Bowl has curved sides and wide mouth. Applied to bowl underside is fruiting grapevine with pendant bunches. Twisted support with lobes and beads. Raised circular foot. Bowl and foot have visible hand hammering. A classic Jensen motif – compatible with many other pieces in the master’s oeuvre. Marked “Sterling” with no. 263 and 2 early maker’s marks (1915-27 and 1915-30). Very good condition.
