Classical sterling silver footed bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Round and shallow with scrolled side brackets with flower heads threaded through volute scrolls decorated with raised scrolls and palmettes. Also applied to rim are two cast female heads with fruiting grapevines and pine branches. Conical support on raised foot. Decorative bands comprising interlaced geometric ornament inset with rosettes. Pretty ornament on a kylix-inspired form.

On front in relief is a turn-of-the-century automobile put-putting along a country road. Fully marked including maker’s stamp (R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co.), no. 1412, and volume (1 pint). Wallace was active in Wallingford, Connecticut, beginning in 1870s. Very good condition with nice patina.
