Georgian sterling silver snuffbox. Made by Lawrence & Co. in Birmingham in 1822. Rectangular with inset reeded sides and hinged cover. Large oval agate plaques inset on cover and bottom bordered by engraved flower petals. Interior richly gilt. Hallmark includes George III duty mark and date letter “y” (that is, 1822). Very good condition and patina.
