Antique silver plate and enamel cigarette case. Rectangular with hinged cover. On cover three harnessed horses make their way through the mist. They are white, black, and brown, and have finely delineated manes, ears, eyes, and nostrils. On back is engraved monogram. Gilt interior. Unmarked.

Austrian silver and enamel cigarette case, ca. 1920. Hinged and rectangular. On cover is enameled double portrait of two terriers looking into the distance, their taut and restless bodies momentarily still. One is white with red collar. The other has shaded dark fur. An endearing breed specific piece. Gilt interior. Hallmarked. Excellent condition with strong color.

Antique silver and enamel wrist compact. Ovoid with hinged cover. On cover is enameled feline group: kitties have stiff forelegs, fat paws, adorable pink noses, and lots of soft fur. Expressions range from intense to contemplative. Compact interior has hinged powder compartment and mirror. Tapering silver handle and wrist chain. A great piece for a cat lover. Unmarked – possibly Austrian.

European gilt 935 silver compact, ca. 1920. Double-sided feline motif. On front kitty assumes a formal pose with direct stare, stiff forelegs, and erect ears. One ear exceeds the frame as does the wrap-around tail tip. The eyes and collar are “jeweled.” The same pose from behind is on the back, including collar. Interior has two hinged compartments. Hallmarked. Excellent condition with mellowed gilding.

Novelty sterling silver match safe in form of Punch. Made by DSS in London in 1978. The classic character with the traditional stocking cap and neck ruff, his finger suggestively resting against prominent nose. Hallmarked. Excellent condition with fine definition and rich patina.
