Sweet silver box with squirrel finial. Drum-form with soft and shimmering hand hammering. Compatible domed cover with cast nut-nibbler hunched over his find, which he grips with tensile forepaws. Box underside marked “Sterling” with stamp for Marie Zimmermann, a maker who was active in New York during the first four decades of the 20th century. Cover marked “800” with stamp for Jenzler, a historic Swiss maker. Very good condition.
