George III sterling silver snuffbox. Made by Samuel Pemberton in Birmingham in 1823. Rectangular with chamfered corners and flat hinged cover. Engraved Neoclassical ornament in pointillé borders. On sides acanthus leaf arcade. On bottom leaf in chamfered rectangular frame radiating line on dotted ground. Cover top has oval (vacant). A pocket-sized keepsake from the late Georgian era. Fully marked. Good condition with nice toning.

George VI sterling silver tray. Made by Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd in Sheffield in 1946. Rectangular with molded rim and double-scroll corners; end bracket handles same. Traditional Georgian for the postwar era. Fully marked including retailer’s stamp (Peter Guille) and phrase “Made in England”. Very good condition.

Victorian Classical sterling silver goblet. Made by Elkington & Co. Ltd in Birmingham in 1859. Ovoid bowl on knopped cylindrical stem flowing into raised foot. Bowl has engraved vertical scrolled frames inset with leafing scrolls surmounted by scallop shells, except one, which is vacant in place of the shell. Foot has leaf and flower garland on stippled ground. Beading. Gilt interior. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Later ornament in form of chased and engraved scrolls, flowers, and scallop shells on stippled ground. Scrolled frame (vacant). Fully marked. Very good condition with deep patina.

Set of 4 Victorian sterling silver place card holders. Made by Saunders and Shepherd in Chester in 1899. Each: A rifle is propped against a shilling coin dated 1899, the year war broke out in South Africa between the British and Dutch colonial settlements. The rifle is the famous Lee-Metford, which was by then a tad old fashioned, but still considered reliable by British as well as Dutch troops, who made use of captured specimens. George V sterling silver figural place card holders. Made by William Suckling, Ltd in Birmingham in 1931 Each: Cast canine figure with plain silhouette back mounted to oval base. Each dog different as they are in real life. For a special “pack” night with a few close friends. In leather-bound case with fitted velvet and silk lining with gilt retailer’s stamp (“Jewellers / Nathan & Co / Birmingham”). Very good condition.

George V sterling silver box. Made by Richard Comyns in London in 1934. Rectangular with straight sides and curved corners. Cover hinged with gently curved top and tapering tab. On cover top is engraved the coat of arms of the Honourable Artillery Company, which is the oldest regiment in the British army. Cedar-lined and partitioned interior; underside leather lined. Fully marked. Very good condition.

Victorian Gothic sterling silver goblet. Made by James Charles Edington in London in 1857. Tall and flared bowl with gilt interior; girdled cylindrical stem on raised foot with studded lobes and scalloped rim. Bowl has four studded and stippled strapwork frames of which two inset with flowers and a third with a medieval horseman galloping through a rocky landscape accompanied by a dog, all in relief. George V covered urn. Made by Lionel Alfred Crichton in London in 1930. Girdled urn on stepped, raised, and gadrooned foot; s-scroll side handles with leaf cap and pendant flower heads. Cover domed with gadrooned rim and finial. Cutout strapwork applied to bowl and cover. Traditional Classical form in Britannia (that is, 958) silver. Fully marked. Very good condition.
