This is beautiful pair of sterling silver candlesticks by Tiffany & Co. in a timeless neoclassical design based on a Georgian model. Each candlestick stands on a stepped square base and has a tapered column-shaped body and an urn-shaped socket with removable circular wax-pan. The base is trimmed with small beaded bands and swaged fabric studded with flowers. Similar swags and accent the top of the column and the socket which is also partially fluted. These candlesticks are in excellent condition and each measures approx. 12 1/4” high and bases approx. 5” in square. Each is marked on the back with the mark of Tiffany & Co., the words Makers, Sterling Silver 925-1000, Weighted 3, Reproduction Original by Fenton & Creswick Sheffield 1782, pattern number 18554, order number 1360, and the letter M for John C. Moore, Tiffany’s president from 1907-1947. This handsome pair of antique silver candlesticks has been made with Tiffany’s superior quality and craftsmanship, and is a beautiful example of neoclassical silver design. Timeless and versatile, these elegant candlesticks would make an excellent addition to any decor.
