Pair of Chrysanthemum sterling silver serving trays. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Each: Shaped oval well, curved sides with lobing and applied leaf border. A profusion of blossoms bunched at ends and wrapped around bracket handles. Scalloped rim with alternating flower heads and leaves. Oval foot ring reeded with applied leaves. Fabulous early pieces in the celebrated New World interpretation of a Japanese motif, which was introduced in 1880.

Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 5931 (first produced in the same year), and director’s letter M (1873-1891). Excellent condition.
