Edwardian Classical sterling silver bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1921. Round and deep well and turned-down shoulder with molded curvilinear rim. Engraved and chased stylized ornament with curvilinear strapwork border interspersed with leaves, and five leafing scroll frames of which four inset with scallop shell and the fifth vacant. A small centerpiece with silver-plated liner and brass frog.
All pieces fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 19837H (first produced in 1921), order no. 6333, and director’s letter m. Bowl marked “sterling silver”, liner marked “silver plated”, and frog marked “brass gilt”. Excellent condition.
