Set of 12 striking American Art Nouveau sterling silver bread and butter plates, ca 1890. Each: Round and deep well, wide and curved shoulder, and applied open and irregular rim comprising languishing blooms and entwined leafing and budding branches. All marked “Sterling”. One plate also has maker’s stamp (Redlich), retailer’s stamp (Bailey, Banks & Biddle), and no. 3148 as well as engraved years “1914 / 1939”. Excellent condition.
