Fabulous quality George III sterling silver epergne. Made by Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard in London in 1819. Baluster shaft with leaf borders and flanges on trapezoidal concave base with corner ram’s head monopodia with volute-scroll terminals in turn mounted to same frame with corner leaf-capped volute-scrolls supports. Baluster surmounted by 4 leaf-wrapped scrolls supporting ring inset with clear cut-glass liner. Four leaf-wrapped scrolled arms each terminating in open leaf bowls inset with same. Beaded, palmette, and leaf-and-dart borders.

Georgian Regency Classicism with a practical twist. Bowls have threaded mounts and can be replaced with candle sockets for conversion to a 4-light candelabrum. A twofer! All marks match. Very good condition.

Dimensions: H 19 3/4 x W 18 x D 18 in. Weight (silver only): 231 troy ounces. #SW1
