Edwardian sterling silver chafing dish. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1903. Oval bombe bowl with leaf-mounted bracket handles. Liner has reeded rim. Cover double-domed with tooled shell pattern and cast turtle finial with overhanging legs, dangling tail, and poked-out head. Bowl set on oval stand with 4 volute scroll and leaf-mounted fluted supports terminating in volute scrolls. Interior ring for 3-flame heating element.
Bowl, liner, and heating element fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. A4163. Heating element has date symbol. Excellent condition.
