Chinese silver gilt, enamel, and marble pagoda box, ca 1920. Marble base with guilloche enamel pilasters and applied imbricated gilt filigree leaves, and raised foot with inset cabochon stones on enameled ground. Top has patterned enamel ground and gilt eaves with cabochon amethyst rim, and pendant turquoise. Cover has same with gilt finial on lobed ring surmounting green enamel circles. Colorful and flamboyant exoticism. Marked “Silver”. Very good condition with nice age-related toning.
