Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau glass jug decanter with silver overlay. Made by Gorham in Providence. Round with flat front and back; neck cylindrical with sterling silver collar and hinged and cork-lined cover. Loose and meandering leafy scrolls, floral diaper, and asymmetrical cartouches (vacant) on front and back. Glass dark green. A really nice special-occasion piece, though easy-grip handle convenient for furtive straight-from-the-bottle slugs. Fully marked including patent year 1886 and no. S814. Very good condition.
