Victorian Rococo sterling silver dessert set. Made by Martin, Hall & Co., Ltd in Sheffield in 1859. This set comprises 18 knives and 18 forks. Textural handle with strapwork cartouche; terminal scrolled with engraved armorial in cabled oval. Blades and shanks have double-sided engraved leafy scrolls, fruits, and flowers. In stained-wood case with fitted velvet lining; case cover has brass plaque engraved with same armorial.

Fully marked as well as design code registered in 1858. Very good condition. Dimensions: Knife: 8 5/8 in. Fork: 7 1/4 in. Case: H 3 1/4 x W 13 3/4 x D 10 1/2 in. Total weight (without case): 55 troy ounces. #BN304
