Meiji-era Japanese silver and enamel centerpiece bowl, ca 1890. Curved sides with flat and scalloped rim; foot raised with cutout ogee scrolls and 4 shaped feet. Engraved rippling water and grassy turf with sinuous trunk; supporting applied silver branches with pink enamel prunus blossoms. On other side are meandering branches with white and purple pendant flowers. A few birds, too. Japanese mark. Very good condition.
