Regal sterling silver water pitcher in Empire pattern. Made by Durgin in Concord, New Hampshire. Ovoid with helmet mouth, leaf-capped scroll handle, and round foot. Applied ornament: Two oval ribbon-tied imbricated-leaf frames surmounted by crown, and joined by floral garlands. Imbricated-leaf band on shoulder and rims. A beautiful piece in this pattern, which was first produced in 1895. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Bailey, Banks & Biddle) stamps, and no. 134. Fine condition with strong definition.
