Turn-of-the-century brilliant-cut glass claret jug with sterling silver mount. Made by Gorham in Providence. Cylindrical with spread base and high-looping handle. Vertical ornament with flutes, notches, and stylized egg-and-dart. Sterling silver collar with u-spout. Collar rim decorated with embossed flowers and scrolls. Cover hinged with leaf-mounted open handle. Fully marked and numbered D1566/14A. Condition: Handle mount has a heat check (that is a production flaw). Otherwise very good.
