English Art Deco sterling silver box, 1946. Rectangular with straight sides. Cover flat, hinged, and tabbed with central rectangle (vacant). Allover engine-turned wave ornament on sides and cover. Cover rim faceted with geometric border. Plain corner bracket supports. Box and cover interior cedar lined and partitioned. Underside leather lined. Fully marked including Birmingham assay stamp and maker’s initials M&B. Good condition with minor dents to one end and a few pings.

A great vessel for getting hammered with homemade moonshine. Fully marked including Gorham and Whiting stamps, Gorham date symbol, no. 1666A, and patent year (1924). Whiting was acquired by Gorham in 1926. Very good condition.
