Sterling Trophies: Trophy Cups

Turn-of-the-century Edwardian sterling silver trophy cup. Made by Reed & Barton in Taunton, Mass. Faceted baluster with scalloped and beaded rim. Reeded and leaf-capped, -wrapped, and -mounted side handles. Four leaf-mounted open scroll supports. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 80. Very good condition.

Turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau sterling silver loving cup. Made by Frank W. Smith in Gardner, Mass. Curved body with 3 high-looping handles and domed foot. Flower heads clustered at rim under handles. Foot same with openwork. Fresh and voluptuous with plenty of room for engraving. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 1884. Very good condition.

Large Classical sterling silver covered urn. Made by Currier & Roby in New York, ca 1920. Girdled bowl with leaf-capped s-scroll side handles, stepped foot and stepped and domed cover with vasiform finial. Traditional form with extra oomph. Beautiful proportions and plenty of room for engraving. Fully marked. Excellent condition.

Turn-of-the-century Classical sterling silver trophy cup. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Ovoid body, flared mouth, and c-scroll handles with realistic leaf and bud mounts. Spread foot has same applied to four supports. Interior has gilt wash. A fine design with lots of room for engraving. Fully marked including pattern no. 14417 (first produced in 1900) and director’s letter T (1892-1902). Very good condition.

Body has vertical slash lines and dense and overlapping chased leaves. Handles leaf-wrapped and mounted. Foot has egg-and-dart border and same slashed lines. Foot rim has tooled garland.
