Coffeepot: Straight and upward tapering body with s-scroll spout and high-looping stained-wood handle. Cover hinged and domed with stained-wood finial. Austrian 800 silver 4-piece coffee and tea set on tray, ca 1920. This set comprises coffeepot, teapot, creamer, and sugar on tray.

Each: Tapering hexagonal body on raised foot. Handles high-looping stained-wood. Covers stepped with stained-wood finial (pot covers side-hinged). Spouts v-form. Tray has oval well with tapering sides and flat shoulder. Fashionable geometric forms from postwar Mitteleuropa.

Pre-1922 marks. Excellent condition. Teapot handle has minor irregularity.

American Colonial Revival sterling silver 3-piece coffee set. Retailed by Georg Jensen USA in New York, ca 1950. This set comprises coffeepot, creamer, and sugar. Coffeepot: Truncated cone body, molded and double-domed hinged cover with stained-wood finial, and molded base. Each: Ovoid body and stained-wood scroll handle and flat cover with tooled finial in form of seated jaguar– an exotic touch to a spare form. A smart design by the famed Mexican maker. 1940s hallmark and eagle stamp (1948-ca 1955). Very good condition.

Midcentury Modern sterling silver coffee set. Made by Spratling in Taxco, Mexico. This set comprises coffeepot, creamer, and sugar.

Coffeepot: Gently upward tapering sides, straight diagonal spout, and hinged and domed cover with cabochon stained-wood finial. Side handle also stained wood. Creamer and sugar: Tapering base and inset top with stained-wood “boomerang” handles.

Fully marked with maker’s stamp (ca 1964-7) and no. 30 eagle stamp, which was in use by maker until early 1966.... Click for details
