Pair of Victorian Classical sterling silver bowls. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Each: Round with plain well and curved and fluted sides. Turned-down lobed rim. Four ball supports Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 10374 (first produced in 1889), and director’s letter M (1873-91). Excellent condition.

Francis I sterling silver bowl. Made by Reed & Barton in Taunton, Mass. in 1950. Quatrefoil well and wide flared mouth with wavy scrolled rim. Chased and embossed fruits. A nice piece in the classic French Renaissance pattern. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern name, no. X569, and date symbol. Very good condition.

German 800 silver bowl commemorating Napoleon I and Marie-Louise. Lobed quatrefoil with embossed medallion bust portraits of the couple surmounted an eagle; at bottom a military trophy. Open sides with leaf swag with pendant ribboned medallions (vacant) applied to interior. Beaded rim. Mounted end handles in form of burning torch between gryphons.

The eternal flame such as might have been supposed to burn between Napoleon and his teenage bride, an Austrian archduchess—and grandniece no less... Click for details

Modern sterling silver bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1937. Round with curved and fluted sides. Rim flat and applied with incised band. Short foot ring with same. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 22392 (first produced in 1937), and director’s letter m. Very good condition.

Scalloped frames with chased leaf and flower border on stippled ground, surmounted by open fruiting grapevine border; cast flower and leaf rim. Elegant Scottish Regency Classicism. Fully marked. Very good condition with nice patina.

Sumptuous Victorian Classical sterling silver serving dish. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Rectangular well and scrolling, asymmetrical turned-down rim; bracket-shaped ends with leaf-mounted scroll handles, and corner fruiting grapevine supports. Well has acid-etched leafing scrollwork and flower baskets. Sides have embossed and stippled lobing and corner volute scrolls, and applied cherubs brandishing arrows and flower baskets and frolicking together within the bounds of decency. Well and... Two sterling silver flower head bowls. One is collage-style with 3 graduated layers of fluted, striated, and irregular petals and beaded center. The other has fluted and irregular petals with collage-style center comprising 2 graduated and scalloped layers. In cloth-bound case with fitted velvet and silk lining silver-stamped “Gianmaria / Buccellati”. Dramatic Chinese silver centerpiece bowl, ca 1890. Oval with solid well. Sides open with scaly, slithering wraparound dragons; haunches and legs terminating in talon-gripped balls form supports. Cast heads with gaping jaws and lolling tongue. Detachable metal liner; interior has copper patina. Marked with Chinese characters and stamp for Luen Wo, a silversmith and retailer in Canton, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Very good condition.
