Sterling Flatware: Georg Jensen

Continental sterling silver carving pair. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen, and imported in 1929 to England by George Stockwell. Upward tapering handle with tooled bands; convex terminal with engraved armorial. Stainless steel blade (knife) and shank and stand (fork). Fully marked including maker’s stamp (1915-27) as well as English import marks including London assay stamp. Very good condition with end bungs.

Blossom sterling silver soup ladle. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. Upward tapering stem with pendant seed-spilling bod. Ovoid bowl with side spouts. A desirable piece in the historic pattern. Visible hand hammering. Marks include maker’s stamp (1945-77) and no. 84. Very good condition.

Acorn sterling silver dinner set. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. This set comprises 104 pieces (dimensions in inches):

Forks: 12 dinner forks (7 3/4), 12 salad forks (6 5/8), and 12 seafood forks (5 5/8);

Spoons: 12 teaspoons (6 1/8), 12 teaspoons (5 3/4), 12 round soup spoons (6 3/8), and 12 demitasse spoons (4 3/8);

Knives: 11 dinner knives (9 7/8) and 9 butter knives (5 7/8).

Dinner knives have stainless steel blades and butter knives have sterling silver blades.

Sterling silver ladle in pattern no. 128.  Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen.  Bowl is “squashed” ovoid with 2 spouts and is mounted to handle with seeded scrolls.  Handle terminal is leaf-wrapped berry.   Visible hand hammering.  This model is illustrated in Janet Drucker’s Georg Jensen  (1997, p. 285).  Postwar hallmark with pattern number. Nice condition and patina.
