Midcentury Modern sterling silver sauce ladle. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) for Georg Jensen USA. Tapering convex handle and open volute scroll terminal inset with seed-spilling pod and leaf. Handle base has scrolled tendril and wraparound imbricated leaves on stepped mount. A desirable piece by the gone-too-soon Jensen improviser. Illustrated in: Schiffer and Drucker. Sterling silver ladle in pattern no. 128.  Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen.  Bowl is “squashed” ovoid with 2 spouts and is mounted to handle with seeded scrolls.  Handle terminal is leaf-wrapped berry.   Visible hand hammering.  This model is illustrated in Janet Drucker’s Georg Jensen  (1997, p. 285).  Postwar hallmark with pattern number. Nice condition and patina.
