Japanese Meiji Art Nouveau silver ink blotter, ca 1910. Rectangular with iris flowers and tendrils planted in eddying water at both ends; ground stippled. Concave handle with leaves applied to top. Stained wood lunette-form bottom. Elegant with a steady gently rock. No mark visible. Very good condition.

Dramatic Japanese Meiji silver centerpiece vase, ca 1900. Globular bowl with tall cylindrical neck and flared mouth; raised and inset foot. Bowl has wraparound roiling waves with claw-like spume in relief and a horned and scaley dragon, baring teeth and gripping the sides with talons. Visible hand hammering. Signed on bottom. Very good condition.

Japanese Meiji Art Nouveau silver basket, ca 1890. Faceted zigzag bowl with convex ends and concave sides, and double bamboo-style swing handle. Sides have applied iris flowers on stippled ground. Marked. Very good condition.

Large Japanese Meiji silver chalice, ca 1890. Oval bowl with irregular rim on tall cylindrical shaft flowing into raised and scalloped foot. Spout hammered ground. Double walled. Applied iris and chrysanthemum flowers and blossoming branches. Wire stem with flower head and bud wrapped around shaft. Mount Fuji-form mono plate (vacant). No cliché left behind. Japanese Modern silver box on stand, ca 1930. Rectangular with curved corners. Box has straight sides and cover top is gently raised and has applied gilt medallion with dramatic dragon in low relief. Box and cover interior lined with stained-wood. Stand has wide and tapering shoulder and flat well border with open stained-wood bottom. Marked. Very good condition.

Box and cover interior lined with stained wood. Open bottom. Meiji-era Art Nouveau for the cosmopolitan West. Appears to be unmarked. Very good condition with deep patina.

Fine Japanese silver and enamel saki pot, ca 1890. Ovoid body on raised and scalloped foot. Bamboo-style vertical spout; capped and high-looping handle same. Front and back have chased irises heightened with enamel in eddying water. Front further embellished with crane and blossoming branch. Cover domed; top double-walled and pierced with chrysanthemum flower heads of which some enameled, and ornamented enamel ball finial. Japanese marks and initials “V.M.” Very good condition.
