German Art Nouveau tzedakah charity box, ca 1910. Cylindrical bowl on spread foot with trefoil-mounted scroll bracket handle. Cover hinged and domed with hasp closure and coin slot mounted on underside with wire coils for protecting the marks and pfennigs from pilfering. Applied whiplash tendrils and whiplash blooms. Modish ornament for instilling timeless values. Marks include 800-fineness stamp and maker’s stamp (Wilhelm Binder). Very good condition. Overall dimensions: H 2 1/8 x W 3 1/4 x D 2 1/8 in.
