George III sterling silver sugar basket. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1788. Oval bowl on same raised foot; swing handle. Pierced and bright-cut quatrefoil-inset guilloche band between leaf-and-dart borders. Beading. Cobalt glass liner. Fully marked. Very good condition.
