George III sterling silver sugar basket. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1787. Oval bowl on same raised foot; swing handle. Bright-cut garland between pierced leaf-and-dart borders; four rondels of which one vacant and the others open and inset with patera. Beading. Cobalt glass liner. Fully marked. Very good condition.
