Ovoid body, helmet mouth and spout, leaf-mounted and capped reeded scroll handle with grape-bunch terminal, short flanged stem, and domed foot. Body encircled with military frieze depicting horsemen and helots on stippled ground. Tooled leaf-and-dart bands. Same stylized on lower body. Tooled and chased flowers, leafy scrolls, diaper, and stippling. Asymmetrical scrolled cartouches (vacant). Gilt-washed interior. An exuberant horn of plenty piloted by a cast chubby cherub. Very desirable sterling silver salad serving pair in Vine. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. This pair comprises spoon and fork. Each: Loosely arranged wraparound peapod vine on tapering and gently waving handle. Bowl and shank gilt-washed with irregular rim and incised veins. Spoon has stylistically integrated monogram engraved on verso. This pattern is commonly known as Fruits and Flowers, and was in production from 1872 to before 1904. Very good condition.
