Victorian sterling silver goblet. Made by Henry John Lias & James Wakely in London in 1878. Ovoid bowl, tapering stem with beaded knop and raised foot. Engraved stylized ornament. Bowl exterior has large ovals joined by ogee quatrefoils. Inset flowers. Guilloche and pointille borders. Two ovals vacant. Foot has interlaced arcade. Bowl interior gilt washed. Hallmarked. Very good condition.

Rim ornament includes flowers set in pierced roundels, applied leaves, as well as scrolled and interlaced bands inset with stylized flowers. Hallmark includes pattern no. 17790 (first produced in 1910) and director's letter m (1907-47). Very good condition and patina.
