American sterling silver basket, ca 1890. Scrolled wire sides applied with oval medallions of kneeling winged cherub taking aim with bow and arrow and surrounded by fruiting grapevine. Medallions alternate with applied leaves. Well oval with open center inset with same archer and radiating pierced ornament and applied with grape bunches. Reeded c-scroll swing handle with bunch and leaf. Rests on 4 ball supports. Hallmarked Sterling 2296. Very good condition.

Rectilinear handle with flying crane, carp in wave, and flowers set in shaped frames and on wavy and patchwork grounds. Blade had scalloped top and engraved blossoming branch.
