Hand-hammered and applied sterling silver coffee set. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1880. This set comprises coffeepot, creamer, and sugar.

Japonesque marine life heightened with gilt wash applied to honeycomb ground: fish and crabs swim between the swaying water plants. There are also jokey insects. A creepy-crawly alights on the sugar rim and the creamer handle has a bug "cap".

Each: stylized acorn on rectangular base mounted to stepped and round foot. Two leaf shafts, each terminating in single socket. X-form tendril stretchers with leaf mounts. Desirable pieces in the hard-to-find (for hollowware) Acorn pattern. Postwar hallmark includes pattern no. 619 and designer's initials. Very good condition and patina.
